Kayaking in Florida

There are various places in Florida where people who are new to kayaking or are experienced in kayaking can easily enjoy. In fact, these places are popular southern kayaking destinations because they give all sorts of great views of the amazing state of Florida. Here are some exciting destinations for kayaking in Florida to see.

 

The Merritt Island National Wildlife Refuge is one of the top places to see. There are all sorts of kayaking tours here that cater to people of all skill levels. Also, there are various tours to check out in Florida. The Manatee Encounter is a tour for new kayakers that explores all sorts of habitats for manatees. The Birding Tour is another easy tour that features impressive views of birds in the area. Also, the Black Night/Cold Light Bioluminescent Night Tour is especially popular. This is an especially beautiful tour to see in the evening hours during the summer, as various areas naturally light up during the summer.

The Big Bend Saltwater Paddling Trail is a long wetlands area that is another of the hottest southern kayaking destinations to visit. This trail, which is a little over a hundred miles in length, features various different parts of sea life and birds, including crabs, sea turtles, small sharks and even rays. This place is open every year between September 1 and June 30, and camping permits are required to visit this area.

The Blue Cypress Lake is another of the southern kayaking destinations to visit. This is a freshwater kayaking area in Florida that is popular among those who are especially experienced in kayaking. This includes kayaking in Moonshine Bay and Middleton's Fish Camp. All sorts of impressive fish can be found in this area, including catfish, blue gill and even larger animals like alligators.

The Weeki Wachee River is the last of the places to check out. This is a spring in Florida that expels more than sixty million gallons of water each day. It is an especially popular destination to visit in Florida among photographers because of the natural beauty of the spring. Manatees, alligators, raccoons and various different birds can be found when kayaking in this area. Also, there are courses that are as long as sixteen miles that can be used for people ranging from beginning to expert kayakers. Various kayaking tours are also available in this area.

There are various different great southern kayaking destinations to visit in this state, and there are places for people to check out regardless of their skill level in kayaking.
